Working from our Philadelphia based workshop, our decals are made of an ultra thin, high quality vinyl which is ideal for interior surfaces. Each decal is cut by a machine to the exact design and hand finished and packaged when you place your order.
The Surface Store wall decals are made of a very thin vinyl which is die cut, meaning that
the piece is cut to the edge of the design, unlike a sticker there is
no background color or clear backing. This provides the 'painted on' result of a wall
decal.
Can I use a wall decal for my car or exterior surface?[Back to Top]
Yes and no. Yes you can use it on your car or outside but the vinyl is sensitive to the ultra violet rays and dust. The life of the decal may be shorter when used outside.
You can mount your decal on virtually any flat surface: a wall, a ceiling, a window, a mirror, a piece of furniture... you are only limited by your imagination. (Check out the Decal Gallery for some inspiration). When considering your surface, remember that the less porous the surface the more effort it will take to remove your decal later. Also, decals are best used on flat surfaces, porous or textured walls may not hold a decal as desired.

The most important tool is the squeegee, and it's INCLUDED in our package.
In some cases you will need scissors to cut the transfer sheet in order to place the design elements in the right position (for products which are composed by many pieces).
You can also use masking tape to test positioning of your decal.
Application tips:
Take time to mount your decal, once it's on your surface it's there to last. A few ways to ensure success:

--- Use a measuring tape and a level to ensure your decal is positioned correctly
--- Use masking tape to position prior to mounting and preview the final look
How do I remove my decal? Will it leave marks or residue on the surface after removal?[Back to Top]
Surface Graphic's decals should not leave any residue on your surface. Simply peel the vinyl off when you are ready for a change, make it easier by warming the decal with a hair dryer for a few seconds (set on low heat) to warm the decal, this releases the adhesive and makes it even easier to peel off. Wall decals should not leave marks on, or damage, your surface; however with more fragile surfaces it is important to remove your decal with care. As all surfaces are different we can not guarantee that there will be no paint flecks removed with the decal, some touch up may be required. Use your judgment and be careful when removing any wall decal.
Surface Graphics decals are not removable from paper, we suggest that you test the decal before applying to old wallpaper.

Yes, we ship to Canada via UPS Standard and all other international locations are
shipped through USPS. Your order will be charged customs fees (taxes,
duties, processing fees, brokerage fees, etc.) upon arrival. The Surface Store
has no control over these fees. Customs fees differ in every country, please
check with your local customs office for more information.
The shipping charges you pay to The Surface Store DO NOT INCLUDE CUSTOMS
